Let's plan your heist. Musings from my TedArt talk at Gregangelo Museum
I had a blast giving the ArtTalk at the Gregangelo Museum for the 15-year anniversary of LoveYou2.org.
It is a profound opportunity to reflect and create such a talk. I wanted an imaginative and interactive experience matching the essence of the Gregangelo Museum and to also communicate the power of interactive collaborations. I also wanted to inspire participants to think about how they can act without permission.
Gregangelo has cultivated such a vibrant community, so our love note writing and sharing was deep and inspiring. I'm always changed by the experience of being in community with you and connecting through our shared longings, learnings, and desires.
It was special for me to have friends from different walks of life in the audience. And a huge honor that Todd Hansen joined. Todd and I met in the streets over a decade ago in our mutual pursuits of public heists of attention. And as I mentioned in my talk, the pivotal residencies I had last year with Four Chicken Gallery (Todd is the curator) where I was able to present two works in progress (Grudge Relief Program and Hope Factory) that have evolved into exhibitions.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to the people and institutions who support art and artists. I am wrapping 2025 with an immense desire to create more collective experiences to foster our grief, our love, our longings and connections in 2026.
I'm curious about you….what do you want to do in plain sight? What is a heist you might pull off for the public good? What would you like to get away with? What is your wild idea that you just might could do? You have to be willing to be wrong, to get caught, and certaintly be willing to get no credit.
In the meantime, I'll be dreaming of more wild ways I can love you in 2026.
